In the late 1970s, a young California surfer named David Noll set off on what was meant to be a short adventure to New Zealand with a guitar in one hand and a surfboard in the other. He had no idea the journey would reshape his entire life.
Within days of arriving, David met Linda, a native Kiwi. That brief trip turned into a 13-year chapter filled with marriage, the birth of three of their six children, and deep connections with local beekeepers across the remote, untouched regions of the North and South Islands.
During his time there, David was introduced to the extraordinary properties of native Manuka honey, a staple of traditional wellness that was virtually unheard of outside New Zealand.
When David and Linda returned home to California in 1987, they brought that discovery with them. David founded Pacific Resources International (PRI), becoming the very first company to introduce authentic Manuka honey to the U.S. market. What began as a personal passion over 30 years ago established PRI as the trusted heritage brand for families across North America.
